Envirogroup

Today the Tiaki Taiao Envirogroup (open to all students in the school) met for the first time. Our Enviro-leaders have chosen Parakore/Zerowaste as our first action project, so today the Envirogroup started with a brainstorm on rubbish. This drew out lots of ideas, knowledge and questions - some of our students know heaps about rubbish and where it goes! We then had a chat about our different rubbish options at Victory - general rubbish, recycling, compost and bottle brick rubbish. Next week we'll start on a plan for how to reduce our rubbish at Victory.

Gardening Club 4 April

Heaps of kids turned up for gardening club today! First we walked to the community gardens to get trowels and a wheelbarrow. Next we loaded the bags of compost onto the wheelbarrow and took them to our garden beds. We spread the compost over the gardens and dug it into the soil. Next week we will do some planting.
